Social Events

Wednesday 5th September – Student and International Delegates Drinks Reception and Dinner.
We recommend that you book ticket for the social events in advance but a limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the conference. You will need to produce your tickets to gain access.

Wednesday 5th September

Student Conference and International Delegates Drink Reception, Elvin Hall, Institute of Education
BERA Council would like to invite the attendees from the student conference and any International delegates to meet with them for a drinks reception on Wednesday 5th September from 18.30 – 19.00 in the Elvin Hall at the Institute of Education.

Main Conference Drinks Reception, the Crush, Institute of Education
An informal evening with a pre-dinner drinks reception will take place on Wednesday evening from 19.00 – 19.30 at the Institute of Education.

Buffet Dinner at the Royal National Hotel (Galleon Suite)
The drinks reception will be followed by a buffet dinner at the Royal National Hotel from 20.00 – 21.30. Tickets for the buffet dinner cost £21.00.

Entertainment
After the buffet dinner, delegates can head to the Student Union Bar at the Institute of Education where a Congolese dance band called Monkfish will provide music. The bar will be open until midnight.

Thursday 6th September

Conference Dinner and Dance
Delegates will have the opportunity to dine at the Hotel Russell and then dance to the live band Electric Landladies – music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The drinks reception, followed by dinner and dancing will take place from 19.30 – 23.00. Boasting one of the capital’s most prestigious location, the Hotel Russell is located a mere 5 minute walk from the Institute of Education. Following a £20 million refurbishment the hotel has been completely transformed to provide the ultimate in luxury hotel accommodation. Tickets cost £60.00.

The Student Union Bar will be open until midnight at the Institute of Education.

Friday 7th September

The London Experience
You will have the chance to experience the sights of London by taking part in one of the following tours:
Option 1 – London Eye cost (£46.00)
Option 2 – River Boat Cruise and dinner at the Devil’s Tavern cost (£59.00)

You will be picked up by a traditional red Routemaster London bus outside the Institute of Education at 19.30.

Buffet Dinner at the Royal National
A buffet dinner will be served from 19.30 onwards in the Windsor Room. Tickets cost £19.00 and must be booked at the time of registering.

Entertainment
Music will be provided by The Screaming Citizens in the Student Union Bar from 21.30. The bar will be open until midnight.
