Schools and CPD in England: The State of the Nation Research Study

Findings from a national study of schools and CPD in England are reported. The research design consisted of a literature review, qualitative research, and a survey of a nationally representative sample of teachers in schools in England. The policy context is discussed together with details of the research aims and design. Building on the literature review, teacher learning is considered from the perspectives of workplace learning and teachers
